Grace joined McCulloch England in 1999 as an intern and is currently the President of the firm. Within the firm, Grace’s expertise is focused on tenant improvements. In that capacity, she has designed over one million square feet of medical office building space. Grace’s work is not limited to the medical office sector, but extends into institutional work, where she has been involved in the design of a green field hospital, intensive care units, and radiology departments.

Garrett M. Olin, AIA

Garrett joined McCulloch England in 1999 while a senior in high school as a part-time CAD operator.  After completing his degree at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he joined the firm full time and currently works as a project architect. Garrett fulfills various roles at McCulloch England including large acute-care multiphase projects, freestanding medical office buildings and small renovations and upfits. His most recent projects are a 5-year
multiphase $40M addition and renovation project at CarolinaEast Medical Center and the $120M addition and vertical expansion at NH Matthews
Medical Center. Garrett is well versed in healthcare architecture and has dedicated his career to that endeavor.

Daniel A. Kinken, AIA

Daniel joined McCulloch England in 2008 as an intern and became a licensed architect within the year. He has been involved in projects of all sizes and in all phases of planning, design, and construction. Daniel was prominent in the production of contract documents and construction administration services for two new greenfield hospitals. Daniel managed all work related to the $600 million electronic medical record implementation at 25 hospital campuses and ambulatory surgery centers throughout the southeast. Most recently Daniel has served as the Project Manager and Architect of Record for a $38M expansion of Kernersville Medical Center including the 10-year master plan, the addition of a new cath lab department, expansion of the ICU to 8 beds, and a new 28,000 sq. ft. women’s center vertical addition over the existing patient tower.

Larry E. May, AIA

Larry joined the firm in 1988. Throughout his 35-year tenure with McCulloch England, Larry has been charged with designing and managing healthcare projects in the Carolinas and Virginia. His experience includes projects that range from medical equipment replacements to new community hospitals.

As director, he organizes the efforts of the entire firm while monitoring critical aspects including state and federal regulatory compliance, quality assurance, schedule, and budget. Larry’s ability to lead and work with clients, consultants, and contractors has resulted in numerous successful projects.

Ellen S. Standish, AIA

Ellen joined McCulloch England in 1987 as a Project Architect and has served several years on the management team as Vice President. Ellen has been involved in various projects in healthcare and medical office environment including a center dedicated to women’s services. Ellen is the national pioneer in implementation of the first stainless steel, modular operating room system in the United States. Developed in Germany, the “future-proof, modular system” is considered to be the newest form of operating rooms in the world.

Michael K. Satterfield, AIA

Michael joined McCulloch England in 2000 as an intern architect, obtaining his license in 2004. Familiar with virtually all aspects of health facility development, Michael has been involved in all phases of architectural planning, design, and contract administration. For 18 years, Michael’s primary focus has been healthcare and medical office projects ranging from small renovations to complex multiuse projects on difficult sites.

Ken’s focus at McCulloch England is meeting the needs of our medical office clients through new medical office buildings, tenant upfits and renovation
projects. These projects vary in size from 5,000sf to upwards of 100,000sf. In addition to the work Ken has completed at McCulloch England, he brings a
wealth of knowledge from his 14 years working in the Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia area with various clients.

Scott joined McCulloch England in 2019 and has become instrumental in complex acute care projects for several healthcare systems, managing multiple projects with various sizes and complexities and was a key member of the Bed Tower at Matthews Medical Center. Scott is a valuable resource for the team regarding the full utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3-dimensional visualization in Revit.

was instrumental in the development of the exterior shell of the Novant Health Heart & Vascular and Cancer Institute and has been involved in all
phases throughout design and construction.
