McCulloch England Associates Architects was hired by Beaufort Memorial Hospital to design their new Pratt Emergency Department renovation and addition. Simultaneously we began planning and design for a new Medical Office Building on property adjacent to the hospital. This four-story building is designed to house Hospital Administration and various tenants. The building site presented the greatest challenge along with the various city agencies that have input in the design process. McCulloch England and the hospital successfully achieved approval for height variance from the Board of Adjustment, a final approval from the Design Review Board, and sign off from the office of Civic Investment—in half the time typically scheduled for these processes.
